Based on the Japanese word “qi” or universal life force, Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is a healing technique that helps to balance the body’s energies and promote health & wellness. Reiki is used for anxiety relief, stress reduction, pain relief, and relaxation. After a Reiki session, one usually experiences a greater balance in their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states.
Reiki practitioners act as a vessel or conduit through which Reiki energy travels. The Usui System of Reiki is a hands on healing practice - during an in person Reiki session, the client will lay fully clothed on a massage table while the Reiki practitioner places her hands on the body in a series of positions to channel the Reiki energy.
Distance Reiki sessions draw upon the power of universal energy and connection which are not bound by time or distance. When invoked and used by an experienced Reiki practitioner, the distance symbol allows the practitioner to send healing Reiki energy across time and space. Distance Reiki sessions are equally as effective as in person sessions and provide the same benefits.
Benefits of Reiki:
Reiki tends to feel soothing and relaxing. Some people experience greater love, joy, calm, lightness, a tingling sensation, an emotional release, or an energetic clearing. Others will see vivid colors, textures, patterns, or shapes through their mind's eye. Many become so relaxed that they fall into a deep slumber. There is no single outcome as Reiki sessions are unique to each individual.
Reiki balances your body's energies while offering many benefits for your healing journey. It is a divine healing energy that generally flows to the areas of your body where it is most needed. Reiki can also help you stay centered and grounded during uncertain times such as the global health pandemic.
Who can benefit:
Anyone who is open to receiving Reiki healing energy can benefit from it. Having a Reiki session helps to clear blockages from the body's energy centers (i.e. chakras) to promote the free flowing movement of "qi" or universal life force energy.
Distance Reiki sessions take place over Zoom or Google meet.
A 60-minute session consists of: 10 minutes of checking in & setting intentions, 40 minutes of Reiki, and 10 minutes for sharing & wrap-up.
It is recommended that clients meet in a quiet / private location with the option to sit or lay down comfortably, so they can relax while being open to receiving Reiki healing energy.
